Danalee’s Adventure

In order to give a plug for my niece’s band, I thought I would add this ghost story to My Short Story page. It was one I wrote about her a long time ago. She had asked me to use her name in one of my stories, so I let the ideas gel in my mind for awhile. On the way out to my in-law’s cottage for Thanksgiving, I took note of the autumn colours flying past the car window and let my mind wander. It was then that I got the idea for Danalee’s Adventure. The story is pure fiction, but she really was about 14 when I wrote it. If you are interested in reading it, check out My Short Story page.

It’s been a long time since I’d read it, so this morning I thought I’d give it a quick read to make sure it was up to snuff. As I went through this final edit, parts of the story still brought tears to my eyes. Believe me, it was hard to write some of it, way back then, because I could barely see through my tears! I hope it will move you as it has moved me to write it.

Danalee is now a paramedic and sings in the band Electric Angel. If  you would like to check out her gig schedule, follow her band on Facebook using the link in the Blogroll, below.

  1. That’s a lovely story, Susan! I couldn’t find it in the blogroll below, though. Took me a while, but I found it eventually when I opened the MY SHORT STORIES tab above – just in case anyone else is having the same problem.
